Cabana

Slack command reference

Cabana registers two slash commands — /pto and /cabana — and they accept the same arguments.

CommandWhat it does
/ptoShows your balances for the current year — same as balance.
/pto balanceOne line per leave type: days remaining out of your total, plus anything pending approval. Unlimited leave types show days used this year.
/pto requestOpens a time-off request form inside Slack.
/pto whosoutWho's off today. Also accepts who's out and whoisout.
/pto helpLists every command.

Replies are private

Every response is ephemeral — it appears only for you, in the channel where you ran it. Running /pto balance in #general won't show your balance to the channel.

If you mistype

An unrecognized argument gets the same list as /pto help, so you can't get stuck.

The Cabana app in Slack

Open Cabana under Apps in Slack's sidebar. The Home tab shows your balances, your upcoming time off, and a Request time off button. Approval requests and decisions arrive in the Messages tab.
