No benefits administration
Cabana doesn't manage health insurance, 401(k), or open enrollment. If benefits admin is a core part of your HR workflow, BambooHR or Rippling are better fits.
No performance reviews or compensation management
We're focused on time off. If you need goal-tracking, review cycles, or comp benchmarking in the same tool, Cabana isn't the right choice — yet.
No payroll processing
Cabana exports clean data for payroll, but doesn't run payroll itself. You'll keep using Gusto, Rippling, or ADP for that. Cabana sits alongside them as the Slack layer for PTO.

Can I import our data from BambooHR?
You can import employees via CSV today. Direct BambooHR data import is on the roadmap. Most teams take under 10 minutes to get their team set up — import a CSV, pick a policy, connect Slack.
We already use BambooHR — do we need to replace it?
Not necessarily. Many teams run both: BambooHR for employee records and HR compliance, Cabana for day-to-day PTO requests and approvals in Slack. We export CSV data for payroll reconciliation either way.
What if we need BambooHR's other features later?
Cabana focuses on leave management. If you grow to 200+ employees and need benefits administration, performance management, or deep HRIS features, BambooHR may become the right fit. We'd rather you know that upfront than discover it after a bad churn experience.
