Cabana

Carryover rules

At the end of your leave year, Cabana applies one of four carryover behaviors to whatever's left.

RuleWhat happens to unused days
NoneThey're forfeited. A use-it-or-lose-it policy.
CappedUp to a maximum you set rolls over; anything above it is forfeited.
ExpiresDays roll over but must be used within a set number of months, then expire.
UnlimitedEverything rolls over indefinitely.

Capped carryover

Set a maximum number of days. If someone finishes the year with 9 days left and your cap is 5, they start the new year with 5 carried over and lose 4.

Expiring carryover

Set how many months the carried-over days survive into the new year. A 3-month expiry on a January leave year means anything carried over has to be used by the end of March. Cabana records the expiry as its own balance movement, so the history shows exactly what lapsed and when.
